- card from Monica saying she got all of her display from Dicken's with no problem and nopes
to get to a meeting soon.
- Got some samples of Paper Pieces from a company in Illinois. We will try to get samples
from them for each guild member to try.
- Also received some information of Quilting on the Red at East Grand Forks.
OLD BUSINESS:
- letters have sent to various companies for donations for the quilting retreat and quite a few
prizes have been received already.
- applications for the retreat have been very slow. Hopefully they are not waiting until
the last minute.
NEW BUSINESS:
- Star Quilt was finished by Deb Heskin with fabric we received and this will be donated to Camp
of the Cross for the auction.
- Juanita made a motion to pay $25.00 to Deb Heskin for thread used to quilt the Star Quilt.
Motion carried.
- Decided to have Friday sewing in April. So our next meeting will be Saturday April 25th
at 9 a.m. with the doors open on Friday, April 24th at 1 p..m. for sewing.
- We will again serve pot luck. Volunteers were Velma, Linda, Jan and Melinda.
- Tonee made a motion to adjourn the meeting, Velma seconded. Motion carried.
NEWS & NOTES:
- The top for the Dicken's quilt is almost finished. All that is left to do are the borders
so it should be finished in April.
- Velma took the Christmas table top home to finish putting the borders on.
- Many of the girls got a good start on making the bags for the Dicken's give away. Everyone
was having fun picking out fabric and patterns. If we end up with more than 7 bags we will use them for door prizes
at the retreat or at guild meetings. Also might be nice to have on hand when someone wants something donated for silent
auctions.
- A good lunch of chili, cheese, buns and cake were served by Becky, Juanita and Audrey.
Thanks cooks.
- Those of you that aren't able to make it for these meetings and sew days are missing out on
a lot of fun. Everyone is having fun and working great together as a team.
- With the weather getting nicer now and the snow about gone hopefully we will see more people
there.
SEE YOU FRIDAY OR SATURDAY APRIL 24th and 25th.
Sincerely submitted,
Melinda Betz, sec/treas.
